Rascher offer a classic collection made primarily from Alpine Loden. Loden is a Natural “fleeced” wool cloth famous for its warmth and water replant nature. Though some items have linings containing more modern materials such as 3M Thinsulate, Rascher's focus is on producing practical clothing to keep the cold out and the warmth in. Their simple loden gilets stand out as being made of pure wool as opposed to more common gilets which are normally 100% polyester.
Natural fibres have the added benefits of being quieter while moving around. While traditionally the natural greens and browns of Loden and Tweed have offered camouflage to many a hunter Rascher have come out with their distinctive “Signal Orange” range; as certain quarry such as deer and wild boar lack the retinal cones to perceive it as anything different than green. Hence like tigers the Signal Orange offers both camouflage from the quarry but also warns other potential hunters of the wearer's presence.
